I arrived at Edinburgh Guitar Studio seven years ago without a musical background and only a love for the guitar.
Over this time, I have developed my musical ability to a level I had never thought possible. I am now a BA Hons first class graduate in music and can say with ease that I would not have reached this qualification without Grant’s lessons, support and encouragement.
My guitar lessons have developed not only my technical ability, but my theoretical and aural skills too – allowing me to understand what I am playing and why. This is essential to any musician’s toolkit whether your goal is to become a professional musician or to just play for fun.
Grant’s lessons have also provided me with the knowledge I needed to pass my formal graded exams.
Every session is taught in a relaxed, fun and engaging environment which is tailored to your
needs and abilities. Grant will challenge you - but at the correct level which leaves you feeling accomplished and realising your potential.
If you wish to learn electric, acoustic or bass guitar in a variety of genres from classical to rock,
look no further! I couldn’t recommend anyone more. His lessons are invaluable!

I started playing the guitar when I was 49. I thought I wanted to just strum a few chords on an acoustic guitar. Now, 2 years on, Grant has got me attempting Grade 7 solos on an electric guitar, and I am completely obsessed. Grant's enthusiasm and skills have got me playing things I hadn't even considered I'd be able to. I'm looking forward to seeing where I can go next.

I have 2 sons, now aged 13 and 14, currently being taught by Grant and I cannot speak highly enough. Both are very different characters yet Grant manages them both brilliantly with a great mixture of enthusiasm, knowledge, humour and so much patience. I have no problems recommending Grant to anyone.

I have been Grant's pupil for some time.
His friendly relaxed teaching has been been a constant inspiration.
He possesses not only superb musical knowledge and playing skills but also the two vital qualities that every good teacher should have - encouragement and endless patience.

I can’t recommend Grant highly enough. Right from the start, he built a strong & friendly rapport with my then 7 year old son, teaching at a perfect pace and showing patience and support throughout.
There is no question, Grant is an incredibly talented musician and his lessons really help build confidence with a guitar and beyond. Grant’s focused and reassuring teaching approach has helped my son become more confident in himself, he loves his guitar lessons and time with Grant (which usually has a bit of history, sport & film chat thrown in too!). I asked my son for 3 words to describe Grant & he said 'enthusiastic, encouraging and kind' - says it all!
Grant is a brilliant teacher, no wonder his lessons are so popular with students at all levels.
